Maisha N. Shaw
Maisha Shaw is an associate concentrating in civil litigation. In particular, she defends railroads in FELA claims in Federal and State Court. In addition to her work with railroads, Maisha defends municipalities and companies in employment-related claims before the Department of Labor, EEOC, Department of Human Rights, Human Rights Commission and Federal and State Courts. Further, Maisha advises clients on issues in labor and employment law to minimize the risk of employment-related disputes.
Prior to joining Daley Mohan Groble, Maisha was an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General in Chicago, Illinois. Maisha defended state agencies in employment litigation, including matters under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act and Title VII – race, religion, sex discrimination and sexual harassment.
Maisha graduated from law school in the top 18% of her class. She received the James C. Faison Multicultural Leadership Award and the Massachusetts Black Judge Book Award. Maisha was also the President of the Multi-Cultural Law Student’s Society and Black Law Student’s Association.
